Easter Sunday 2012

 Easter Sunday Pictures 2012
Maggie is now 10 and turning into a beautiful young woman! She still loves to read and learn.
Sometimes she can be caught missing the bus, while engrossed in a good book! (True Story)
Sadie is now 6 and is developing quite the little personality!
She is guilty of all our giggles lately, this being one of them.
She is our little diva and has a great sense of fashion.
Too bad this great sense of fashion, will have us broke in less than a year!
Logan is 8 and is a True Gentleman.
He loves his sisters and is a wonderful protector of anyone smaller than him.
His latest craze is Legos!
When I can't find him, he is most likely in his room by himself, building.
Yestserday... he started working on the Titanic!
He has a wonderful sense of Creativity!

You've been Egged!

Friday afternoon, the door bell rang and we found this on the door! The kids were thrilled! The mysterious family hid all the eggs in the front yard and the kids enjoyed looking for them. They had such a blast. We decided as our special Easter week celebration, we wanted to pass this along. They choose two other families that we could egg. They loved every minute of it and decided to make this a new Easter Tradition!

Maggie counting the eggs to try and figure out how many were left!
Sadie decided this was her favorite hidden egg!
Logan was searching and will probably continue to search for the last egg, which we never found.
Thanks to our Dear friends, who made this a really fun Easter celebration and now continued tradition!

Easter 2012

This year was a different kind of Easter for us.  Sadie is the youngest at the age of 6, We wanted to change it up a bit. We had a week long celebration of Easter everyday we had a picture and some scriptures with an activity, all based on the last week of the Savior's life. The kids had Easter Egg Hunts at school, so we decided not to have an Easter Egg Hunt. Instead, we had a Love One Another Table, where the kids could only take a piece of candy when they wrote something down that was nice about someone else. Some of the activities we really fun and helped us set the spirit for our home this special week of Easter.

I am posting a bit more about what we did for our week long celebation. Several of you have asked me about it, so  I thought this might be a better way to share it. Here is the link where I used the activities, next year we will change a few as well, http://www.sugardoodle.net/joomla/index.php?view=article&catid=156&id=4281%3Aour-week-long-easter-experience&tmpl=component&print=1&layout=default&page=&option=com_content
just copy and paste it.
Pretty neat to eat like the savior, we did gyros on flat bread instead of the plans on the list. It was great, we loved that!!! Josh and I have talked about keeping that an ongoing thing. Next year, we will make our own tomb as a family night activity using an oval and some rocks and glue. I will purchase some cheap soldiers (2) to stand outside the door, then on easter morning we will lay the soldiers down and and open the tomb and leave a piece of white cloth with it. My mother in law gave me this idea and her parents did it with lint, and this was her favorite memory. Next year, we will also have everyone pick something they would like to give up for the whole week and see how this works as well. About being egged...The eggs were hidden in the front yard and we just had to find 15, just candy inside. Next year we are thinking about leaving nice thank you notes of scriptures to go with the candy. Then we took the kids to the homes, they quickly hid them in the front yard, rang the door bell and we drove away! Tons of fun and they learned so much more this year than in years past!

The Bookbag Thief

Maggie's bookbag was stolen out of the car over the weekend. We just assumed she had lost it! Come to find out our neighborhood had a thief! We figured out that after we replaced all of the contents, plus the nice book bag and lunch box, it would cost us $70! Craziness set in... I started replacing, library books and Leesville Road Folders. She would have to complete homework again.  By Wednesday, about 9:00pm. in the evening, my neighbor knocked on the door. She said her neighbor saw some bookbags lying by a mailbox several doors down. She picked it up and brought it back to us! We thanked her very much.
The following day a couple of kids told Logan, they saw Maggie's lunchbox in a tree down the street. Thanks to those kids, we found it! In trying to save a little money,  Josh decided that maybe we could save the library books by baking them in the oven.Lesson learned... lock your doors even if your car is pushing 215,000 miles, and replace the lights in the driveway so the motion detector will light up!

Sadie's 6th Birthday

Sadie's Baby Blessing

 "Our little Accessorizer" age 2

This year, we stole an idea from a friend. We tiptoed into Sadie room and hung balloons for her to wake up to. I guess we didn't have enough! She woke up she didn't even notice them.  I sent her back to bed to try again, still no luck! Finally, I said lay down and look up... then she thought it was cool:) lesson learned, lots or none at all! (please ignore the dirty room, she is sleeping in bed when the picture was taken!)

So last year for Ash's birthday we bought her this Hello Kitty bag. For the last year, Sadie has been talking about trying to find one.
Thanks to our local Ross,  I found one and snatched it up quickly! She was thrilled!

Amazing Cake made by Dobby (Grandma Mace) I don't compete or complain!
It's hard to believe that our baby is now 6 years old. She is our favorite youngest child! She is our little fashion queen and diva. For her birthday, she said she "really needed a new PE outfit"!If you look close in this picture you can see the new Puma outfit we bought for her! Crazy huh...not wanting to perdict the future but not anticipating the next serveral years! She loves her clothes, hair and nail polish. I just think every family must have one like her to experience it! Years ago, at the age of two, I blogged and said she was our little accessorizer, that has come true! Sadie, We love you and every part of your personality that makes you... YOU!

Leesville Road Talent Show 2012

Maggie was so excited to make the cut in the 4th-5th grade talent show. We were so proud of her. She sang "Love Story" by Taylor Swift and opened the show. I am still looking for the video, I took pictures and another  parent told me I could have a copy of her video. I will post it, when I get it. For now, this is a few pictures I snapped! At the end, they had all the students come back into the stage for the last song and then bow.

Pinewood Derby 2012

Pinewood Derby
This was our first year as True Cub Scout Parents! Logan had his first derby and he came up with the designby himself! (He wanted it flat like a shark.)  Daddy cut it, Logan sanded it and painted it. Daddy poured in the weight and They were finished! They had a great time making it and Logan was proud to say he made it with a little help from dad. He didn't win, but came away for the award for the most creative designed car. They are already talking about what he will do different next year!
